CityLynx is unique because we design and build traffic signal systems. We perform turn key services for intersection construction from planning studies to design plans to construction installation to maintenance and trouble shooting. We are construction workers, superintendents, signal technicians and engineers. We are bonded & insured and certified Small Business (SBE) with City of Houston. Kimberly Zorn

Kimberly Zorn, President

Kim has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. She has helped run 4 different construction companies in her career. She comes from a strong family history of construction experience, company ownership and was the first in her family to obtain a college degree. She oversees the day-to-day business operations. She’s an expert in financials, quality control, proposals, risk assessment, establishing the construction teams, budgets and talent evaluation.

Chad Zorn

Chad Zorn, PE, PTOE Vice President / Traffic Engineer

Chad has spent his near 20-year career managing projects from planning to design to construction. He spent 10 years managing projects for the City of Houston, and spent other time working for TXDOT, TTI, and various engineering firms. He has “hands on experience” in every aspect of a project and a deep devotion to building an honest team. Chad’s leadership on a variety of complex projects gives him a well-rounded perspective to assemble powerful teams that identify project risks and provide innovative solutions. He has a bachelor and master’s degree in Civil/Traffic Engineering from Texas A&M University. He began his career in 1998 working on land surveying crews in the Houston heat in order pay his own way for college.

Pat Vaughn

Pat Vaughn, Lead Superintendent

Pat has 35 years experience in traffic signals and is responsible for all areas of traffic signal operations, managing day to day operations to execute coordination and completion of projects on schedule. Has managed construction crews of dozens of traffic signals for the City of Houston, Harris County, TXDOT and others. Pat is an expert at getting the job done on time, on budget and with a smile.

Fred Koehler

Fred Koehler, Project Director

Fred has been in the traffic signal business over 20 years. He started as a signal technician (made it as high as level 3), and has since managed construction of hundreds of traffic signals, fiber optic communications plants, roadway lighting systems, and surveillance camera systems.

He's a leader in customer-service standards, resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining system improvements and implementing change.

For nearly 9 years while employed for Montgomery County, Fred coordinated, designed and managed the installation of traffic control devices and signal coordination / synchronization plans.

Kevin Hughes, Superintendent

As a third generation electrician following in his father's 35+ year tenure, Kevin has amassed a total of 34 years of electrical experience, with 28 years being dedicated to traffic signals. After diligently working to achieve his Journeyman's license in 1997, Kevin has led multiple teams across four of the largest signal contractors from Texas to California. As the National Sr. Construction Coordinator at American Traffic Solutions, Kevin oversaw the daily operations of multi-state crews, being responsible for timeliness of completion of projects, as well as working with the research and development department on electrical and traffic signal issues that affected road safety equipment. While working as a Superintendent, Kevin received his Master Electrician license in the state of Texas.


Aaron Funk, Project Manager

Mr. Funk has over 14 years of experience in Traffic Engineering, both in design and construction. He was employed by the City of Houston as a Graduate Engineer for 13 years, and multiple summers working on Highway Design and Construction with the Texas Department of Transportation. For the past thirteen years, Mr. Funk was the project manager for all inhouse design/build projects, for the Traffic Division at the City of Houston. Managed multiple mobility projects for City of Houston Public Works.
